Has anyone applied for a Pulaski B&T Visa? 8.75% FIXED on balance transfers. Sounds too good to be true.

I’ve never heard of them before. In looking at their site, there is a $35 annual fee for the card ($50 for gold) and no fees to transfer balances.
In reading their terms and conditions, I did find something in the fine print that concerned me:

Stan,
I know a lot about Pulaski Bank’s cards because they are located in the same city that we are in, which is Little Rock, Arkansas. They also are current sponsors of our site. They are a small bank (which explains why NetKat hasn’t heard of them), but they are very legit and are very respected locally. The only catch with their card is that you have to have an excellent credit rating to qualify. For the past several years, they have always ranked at or very near the top of the nation’s lowest rated credit cards. Needless to say, their card is highly desired. Even though the bank is tiny relatively speaking, their credit card dept. is daily inundated with credit card applications from all over the country.
I found the terms that NetKat eluded to be very interesting (thanks again for going that extra mile, NetKat!). I didn’t know Pulaski on occasion sold part of its card portfolio. I don’t think they do this often because I have never heard of any consumers complaining about such practices. Interesting, though.
Best Regards,

Thank you both for your help, never have I received such immediate and thorough feedback on the web. I’m still not sure if I’m going to “use up” an inquiry on Pulaski, they sound a little picky. We have very good credit but our income recently has suffered in an effort to keep our son out of childcare. We have 25K in credit on 4 different cards which are all near their max and 18% and up rates.
Our combined part time incomes is only 23K. We need to transfer balances asap but I know its going to be tough to pull off, I just want to keep inquiries to a minimum but also be “proactive” in managing my debt. What to do, what to do? They got us all by the kahunas. Thanks again..great board!!
