Hi All,

I would very much like to get a platinum card. I read once that a Citibank Platinum Select card is pretty easy to get. Any other suggestions on other platinum cards that is relative easy to get? By the way, I currently have a Discover card with a $4,000 balance (closed this account, but making monthly payments) and a classic visa card which I charge little on it and pay it off each month. Thanks for any suggestions and comments!

When adding new credit line amount (THAT THEY WERE GOING TO GIVE ME) to current credit lines, income too low.

I wonder what credit line they were going to give me $80,000???

I JUST WANTED 2.90% FOR 9 MONTHS…(FOR BALANCE TRANSFER TO CLOSED ACCOUNTS), PROBABLY FIGURED I WOULD DUMP THEM AFTER 9 MONTHS…PROBABLY TRUE.

I faxed a denial of their denial.
NO ANSWER, SO I CALLED.
They said send them a copy of the newest experian credit report with all current amounts noted and state closed accounts.

THEY MAY CHANGE THEIR MIND.

You got wrong information, George. I know at least two people who qualified with incomes at $30,000 or even in upper 20ies (not sure about the second one).
There was no bad info on their reports, except for pretty short credit histories (only about 10 months and 6 months of secured credit account for each of them).

Eugene.

I think he George is saying that this is *his* info (not the CC’s requirements) - and they still turned him down. He has this income, credit history, etc.

Citibank’s platinum select card requires good credit. I don’t think perfect credit is necessary though. The limits can be as low as 1K. There are some postings on creditnet’s board from people who first got the Aadvantage card and then upgraded to the platinum right away with no problem. If denied on the application for the plat., you might want to try that approach since the Aadvantage is easier to get.
