Oh, Jeez, not again!

Donna, I am very sorry about what happened, but I do not think this site and “Cardholder Loyalty” report published on it are to blame. Those are statistical data. They indicate how bank’s customers generally feel about their banks and services they provide. Those opinions will not necessarily be similar to individual experiences.

(Oh, God, I sound like “Legal Disclosures”. I read waaaay too much fine print).

Anyway, it might be late now, but did you ask MBNA for a specific reason why they closed your account? There has to be something on your credit report, and it was only natural to ask.

What is certainly NOT late to do, is look at your report. Ask them what CRA they pulled, or better yet, get all three. See what’s wrong there, MBNA may not be the only creditor to mark you “bad risk”.

Good luck.
Eugene.

Donna,

Thanks for your post! The “Cardholder Loyalty” report on our site (if that is what you are referring to) was actually produced by J.D. Power & Associates (http://www.jdpa.com). The report is somewhat dated (1999), so we plan on removing the report from our website fairly soon. J.D. Power & Assoc. informed us recently that they will not be producing this particular report/survey anymore. As a result, we are thinking about conducting on our own survey. As Euguene so aptly pointed out, though, surveys should only be used as a general guideline.

Best Regards,
