I received a phone call from a telemarketer she asked me a few questions and
one of them was if I had a checking account. I told her I did. She told me I
was approved for $5,000 dollars credit. Of course there is a $219.00 fee. She
told me many benefits I would receive including a cell phone, discounts on
medical coverage etc. Even though this is a lot of money to me I agreed to do
this. I gave her my checking account information and on November 28,2000 they
will take the fee out of my account and in 2to3 weeks I will receive my credit
cards and free stuff. The name of the company was Key Credit Solutions. She
also informed me someone will call me back in 10 minutes to verify my
acceptance. The number that came up was from IOWA 712-829-8012 he recorded my
answers and at the end talked so fast I could not make out what he was saying
and then hung up. That got me scared and I tried to call the number back but
they would pick up and hang up. I was wondering if this is a true company and
I am not getting ripped off. He gave me a conformation number also. I was
wondering if this is a real company?? If you can help me I would appreciate
it.

Joan,

There is a bank named Key Bank & Trust - they do issue credit cards. keyb-t.com/credit.html. Didn’t they actually give you a number you could call? The Telemarketing Consumer Protection Act requires them to do that. I would think they would comply with Federal Law.

I would never give out account information unless I orgiginated the call, no matter how badly I wanted what they offered, or how legitimate they sound.

I’m wondering the same thing. My daughter-in-law just agreed to receive credit cards from either Key Credit Solutions or Kings Credit Solutions(not sure of name) the same thing happened to her on the phone. Are they sending you 3 credit cards? That’s what she understood. Everything else was the same as you except the guy said he was from 1480 F Terrell Road, Marietta, Georgia 30067. We are hoping this isn’t bogus. They took over $200 out of her account within 2 days after they talked to her and recorded her answer. She is very worried and even called the Better Business Bureau. They said they are legit, but other places she has called said they’ve have a lot of problems with them. I am praying this isn’t bogus.

I think this is one of those companies that you have to order things out of a book. The items are overpriced and it is not reported to the credit bureau.
Please let me know what happened.
