To Whom it may concern,

I am a former employee of Cross Country Bank; I remember the day I was hired into your company, I was pround and excited to become a part of a company like yours that does so much for the community of Kentucky. But that all became to fade as I began to learn first hand that what seems may always not be what is.

You see, I believe that all companies should care about the families of their employees. My daughter is a very ill child and I made that clear when I was hired. I am a loyal person to whomever I may be working for, but I am a mother first and foremost. My little girl at the age of six years old went into cardiac arrest while I was at work one day.

Of course I rushed to hospital to be by her side because I was a single mother and I am all she has. Luckily God gave me another chance to be a mother. But your company did not give me another chance to be a good employee. They called my little girl's hospital room everyday and not once did anyone ever inquire about how she was. They only wanted to know if I was truly at the hospital and not just laying off of work. I find this very cold and calice.

I returned to work on Easter Sunday, only to be told that I should go home and get myself on Welfare since I was a single mother and had no husband to assist me. That really angered me because I think that was the most ignorant piece of advise I had ever been given. Not to mention the most offensive one.

Yes I did walk out after that was said to me by my manager whom I had come to respect and admire. Now I find myself being punished for their ignorance. I have since descide that not only do people deserve a second chance; but also companies because one ignorant person should not be allowed to ruin the reputation of a company as a whole. I am being proved wrong. When I asked for a second chance with your company I have been told that I basically don't deserve one.

I was good at my job and loved my job more than any other job I had ever done. I have one hope for your company and all other companies who look down on single parents and don't choose to use a little compassion and understanding with thier employees; I pray that the people with power will get good sense, and the people with good sense will get power in all of these companies.

In short you shouldn't assume that people are lieing and avoiding thier responsibilities because they may not be able to be at every whim of the company, my favorite quote is by Daniel Hawthorn which says,"The trueth is all ye have here on earth, and all ye shall ever need". My sister works for you now and she loves her job as well. If this was due to any fault of my own I would never have had the gull to ask for my job back, but let me reitterate, I was quite simply railroaded out of the company because I could not ignore my children and become a mother to Applied Card Systems.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Kimberly (David) Conn

Kim,

Thanks for your post! However, I think you have the impression that this board belongs to Cross Country Bank. This is a public board that is independent of CCB and any other bank for that matter. I am sorry that you have had such difficulties with CCB. I have heard a lot of negative comments about CCB in the past, but your post is very penetrating because it allows readers to see the bank from the perspective of an employee. While I agree that you can't judge a bank based on one experience, I do find your experiences to be quite troubling. Thanks for sharing such personal comments. If you would like me to delete the post b/c of its personal nature, let me know.

Keep us posted on how things turn out.

Best Regards,
Curtis Arnold

that is so sad that happen to you .But remember they are in it only for the money ,you are just some one who worked for them ,,sorry for your misfortune ,,Also wondering if your colleges treat every one with disrepect like they did to me ,,Very sad bunch of people that have no heart no compassion for the people with the cards that do pay their wages ,,,,HOpe all is well sorry to hear about your story ,,
Question why does cross country never answer a question ,,,and no one can fix anything ,,because that is not their job discription ,,they call you up at nite ,,every nite to fix nothing ,,,,
