I got a phone call tonight it was from a company called Card America a credit card company located in Merietta Georgia. They offered me a credit card with 13% interest no annual fee or monthly all they wanted was $219.95 sign on fee. The sign on fee was going to be paid through my checking account, they wanted my routing # and check # and it really sounded legite everything the guy was saying and I gave him all my info. The money is to be taken out Nov 10. and in the meantime in 14 days i will get a new member package in the mail containing a free phone with Sprint pcs and free internet access. Has anyone had any dealing with this company?
(im sorta new to this meassage board stuff ,,lol)

I think you may be a victim of a scam! The offer you got is to good to be true.If i was you i would call the bank, and put a stop on the debit unless you can afford to lose the money.Has anyone on this board heard of such a company?

I agree, notify your bank. This sounds like a scam. Don’t ever give out your information over the phone unless you were the one who originated the call. If the deal is that good they can mail it to you, and if they’re giving you credit, they can bill you for the fee.
Good luck,
Linda

It sounds like I had an offer similiar to yours. Only thing they claim they were First Financial. They were so persistent that they got a supervisor to talk to me about this credit card w/ no annual fee only the 200 something to be taking out of my checking account and that they were gonna beat my current apr to 18%. He kept going on and on like I was crazy enough for them to take it out of my acct. I said Ill call him back and he said the offer might not be there when and if I called. Like they said do a stop payment on that check you probably got ripped-off. I would’nt trust them if I were you.

Hi Michael
I did receive an email from you,and i will give you some input how to really find out if they are a scam. This goes for any company no matter where they are from. You should get their so called information packet without cost or obligation. If they can’t do that then this should raise a red flag.Any company that is on the level would be more then happy to assist you by sending you information free of charge. If you do want a real credit card without being scammed try these banks for unsecured credit they are First Premeir,Providian, and First Consumers National Bank. Now on the last bank i have named is a secured account only, and they prohibit collecting up front fees without their card.Go to www.fcnb.com for more information on their product. Now if your credit isn’t that bad where you have to secure a credit card then i recommend the first two banks for their unsecured cards. However they do have high interest rates, and they have no 25 day grace period on their cards. Also they issue you their cards, and then they will bill you their fees after your account has been opened. Please stop the debit with this so called Card America, and get a real credit card with the banks that i have named. If there are anyone else on this board that knows where there are better deals on credit cards please post them here.
