Post subject: credit card statements

What’s the deal with issuers having problems mailing out statements? I’ve had a walmart card for 4 months and have yet to receive a statement. Its not a big deal since i can view it online(and i checked to make sure they have the correct address).

I have a gas card through the same bank(monogram) and in my last statement they said payments mailed without a statement will be delayed up to 5 days. Overall monogram has treated me ok.

Maybe thats a new tactic. Forget to mail out the statements while causing an extra 5 days time to occur when posting payments, thus technically subtracting 5 days off the grace period.

I was told that Monogram Credit Card Bank of Georgia is now owned (and maybe for a few years?) by GE. One of their cards just started reporting on my credit as GEMB, so I guess it makes some sense.

GEMB doesn’t seem like the most honest company to me. I’ve heard of similar things happening with some of the other cards they issue.

Just my two cents.

Good luck.

I only use the walmart card for little things and also for the added tradeline so hopefully i wont give them the chance to rip me off.

The back of my exxon statement also states up to a 5 day delay if

“contains more than one payment or coupon”, is not received in the remittance envelop provided” and also “includes staples, paper clips, tape or correspondence of any type”.

Makes me want to split my minumum payment into 4 checks, with the statement taped to the checks, and use one of the red envelopes you get when you buy a christmas card and also marked paid in full in the memo line.
