Should I get a Visa or MasterCard? Is one better than the othe?

Post subject: On the Citi CC does it matter if you get Visa or MasterCard?

I just saw that you can get Visa or Mastercard if you get a Citi card. Does it really matter? I'm not sure i've ever seen a place that doesn't take Visa but takes Mastercard. And if they take Visa they usually take the others. So why would you choose one over the other? Let me know... thanks

hmmm.... Looks like you only have a choice if you get the College Dividend. I may get screwed into getting that anyways if they check my transunion. Suppose I would get the Visa unless anyone thinks otherwise? If I get the Platinum Select Dividend then obviously i have to get mastercard

You should search this section, I have seen others bring up that question as well in the back posts. Myself, I usually run with Visa myself... I think one is more used out of country then the other. Of course I have no plans to leave this country, lol Make it a trade off, if you have visa already, then get one mastercard, never hurts to have one of each.

Nightstar, Have to choose the Mastercard if you go with the non-college version of the Dividend... So that is what I'll have to go for. I'd rather have Visa but that is ok...

Citi only advertises mastercard, but you can "ask" to get a VISA instead. Worst they can say is no.
