Post subject: BEWARE UNITED MILEDGE PLUS CARD HOLDERS BANK ONE!

ACCORDING TO RHONDA OCCONER, AT BANK ONE, A NON PAYMENT AND A RETURNED CHECK CAUSED MY CREDIT TO BE EVALUATED. AND THE CREDIT LIMITS TO BE DROPPED ON MY THREE CREDIT CARDS TO THE AMOUNTS OWING. ALL WITH NO NOTIFICATION TO ME. OVER THE NEXT THREE WEEKS, I USED THE CARDS AS NORMAL. RUNNING UP LARGE OVER CREDIT LIMITS. OVER TWO WEEKS OF CALLS TO VARIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES. BANK ONE FINALLY ADMITTED TO POSTING MY PAYMENT TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT. AND DID NOT FAX PROOF OF ANY RETURNED CHECKS AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD. DID THEY POST THE PAYMENT TO MY ACCOUNT? YES DID THEY REPAIR MY CREDIT? NO DID THEY REVERSE THERE ACTIONS? NO DID THEY MAKE ANY APOLOGIES FOR THE MISTAKE? NO ACCORDING TO ROY HARDY TEN YEARS GOOD PAYMENT HISTORY IS, IRRELEVANT TO THEIR CREDIT EVALUATION. THE BANK OPERATED WITHIN LEGAL RIGHTS. JENNIFER MEYER AGREED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO BRING MY CREDIT LIMIT UP TO THE AMOUNTS CHARGED TO DATE TO ELIMINATE MY OVER-LIMIT PAST DUE AMOUNTS ON THE ACCOUNTS. BUT FAILED TO DO SO! I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A LARGE GROUP OF INCOMPETENT FINANCIAL. CREDIT ANNALISTS. MY ADVICE STAY CLEAR OF BANK ONE AND DON’T PUT YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

That is terrible, I would suggest filing complain with the FDIC regulating company over them, also with the FTC ftc.gov and with the better business bureau, bbb.com you can also contact your attorney general’s office… and dispute with the credit reporting agencies that you had never been late and see if the reporting department for Bank One fixes the mistake that way. Keep up with the calls to the bank, might even try to contact them through planetfeedback.com and see if you get someone else different to step up and help you.

Bankone and Fusa or whatever are HORRIBLE!!!!! at answering any PFB or BBB once they’ve made up their minds. I found my ONLY united card closed without warning because of purported large balances on another account. I tried PFB, I tried calling for a manager, I tried writing the corporate offices. What did I (the customer by the way) get for my efforts????? NOTHING. They would not change their minds. Because of this, I will never ever do business with these morons ever again. Never have I been outrightly treated so badly by any bank. You can try PFB or corporate offices, but I would not hold up much hope

That is terible to hear, I have had just a brief brushing with First USA years ago, and quickly closed my account at that time, had a one or two day late, and they punished me by dropping my credit limit $100 - not much. I know they could of hit me with higher interest rates, or worse reporting the late but they didn’t. I had a $2100 credit limit at the time, so $100 was not of great concern, just that at the time it rubbed me the wrong way, cause I had been a customer for many years with no lates or other issues with them. So I thought it was a bit rude. Spouse has Bank One now, bought up Sony card, and boy did they jump fast on that one, as soon as they took ownership of the account they jacked the rate - but a nice call to Sony made them change their mind. So if you have another company involved like Sony, be good to use that other company to pressure them. Still worth filing complaints regardless if they reply, cause then that stays in the BBB records that they didn’t resolve the issue - helps to warn others away.
