It is very frustrating to see the amount of complaints against Sherman Acq. We too, have been contacted by this company yearly. Each year they quote a different amount. THey offer to take it off my husbands credit report (discharge) for 500 bucks. My husband has never filed for bankruptcy. Each year when they start calling, we ask for copies of the debt in question. They never send it. We have asked in writing. No response. It seems there are thousands of people having this problem. We have written a letter to Sherman. I will also contact the BBB in Texas and MS (our state). What else should we do?

Send copies of all correspondence, both sent and received (if any) to your state’s Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission, the inspector general’s office of the US Postal Service for investigation of possible mail fraud, if your town or city has anything like a department of consumer affairs, send to them. the Better Business Bureau, the state banking department, your local tv station’s investigative reporters, and anyone else you can think of. In other words, make yourself into a real pest and see if you can make these thugs dry up and blow away, or at least get off your case.
