Credit Tips: Dispute Over Credit Card Account Charges

Post subject: I KNOW I PAID THESE, THEY ARE SAYING NO, HELP

I have a Bergners account and a Maurices account, credit cards, that are showing up on my credit report saying:

XPN Amt Past Due Value is Charge Off Amt, TUC: Charge on both of them. I am almost positive I paid them off, but when I called them today they said no.

Here is what it shows: Opened Limit Mon. Payment Account Bal Last reported Amount Past EFX 4/00 $122 $10 $122 6/02 $0 XPN 4/00 $128 $0 $122 6/02 $0 TUC 4/00 $122 $0 $122 6/02 $0

OTHER ONE EFX 11/99 $0 $0 $192 4/02 $0 XPN 11/99 $102 $0 $0 4/02 $0 TUC 11/99 $192 $0 $0 4/02 $0

Why are the numbers so different in each report? I am almost sure I paid these two. What steps should I take to get them off of my credit report??

First check back in your check records if you can find proof of payment, even look for back statements on these accounts. Need to dispute with each of the credit reporting agencies that these where paid, wait the 30 days to see what their investigation finds. If you can find the proof, then forward a copy to the creditor & the credit reporting agencies. Otherwise you will need to decide what you want to do about this, revisit paying these with the creditor, negotiate for deletion with payment. Try disputing first though, see what happens.
