Hi All,
Most grateful for advice.
I want to start a small online business, but although my income is boosted by a trust I cannot get a credit card from my bank because I am on Job Seekers Allowance.
Without a credit card I cannot register my domain name etc,
What to do?
thanks,

Being employed is the least of your worries.
Bank of America, US Bank, Providian, Royal Bank of Scotland, Target National Bank, Lexus First Savings Bank are guaranteed not to check employment. If you’ve a semblance of a credit record, you’ll get a modest card with a small limit fast.
The only caveat? You’ve to lie, enter an income from $40K - $80K, choose a fictitious profession (like James Frey), and list a number of a business from your town’s yellow pages, or aunt Mona’s home phone. (no, you won’t be prosecuted for lying about employment).
If the unsecured card route doesn’t work, go for the secured card option, which doesn’t change the way you approach employment.
Never, ever, ever, never, ever go to your local bank for a credit card, your local bank is super-probative, stingy, has little capital to lend and demands verified income and employment.
Always go with the majors like the ones listed above, you get higher limits, fast response, good service, not so reasonable rates if you’re new to credit, and rewards.
