Hello, I am asking for advice in looking for a new credit card. I have just graduated from college, and have landed a very well paying job. I usually pay my balances in full, and am currently looking for a new credit card, for large purchases in the future. Please help if you can. I am looking for a low or no intro APR as well as a low fixed rate (who isn’t). Please let me know if you have any advice. Thank you

Nerissa,

Welcome to the board. If your credit is good I would try Blue from American Express - 0% interest for 6 months and then a fixed rate of 10.99, 12.99, or 14.99% after the promotion ends. Minimum credit limit is $2000, and they are very generous with credit line increases. Also, Juniper and Citibank are good ones to try. Juniper has 0% for five months with a rate of 14.99%? thereafter. You can find out more information on Credit Card Freedom’s web site under Credit Card Reviews. Good luck.

But is AMEX accepted everywhere?? I have been to many places where it is not accepted, specially if you are on the move and have to stop by in odd places to buy stuff. One more example is the Metro Railway station. There machines do not accept the Amex card.
One reason could be that the Amex card has 15 Digits on it while Visa/Master have 16, so the vendors need an extra machine to read these cards.
All the best with the new phase.

OR, something needs to be taken out of the existing machines… Like, 1/16 of them.

Sorry, could not resist the temptation….
