Citibank Visa Credit Card Change

Title: Citibank Visa Credit Card Change

out of the blue, i got a letter from citibank informing me that they are changing my long-time citi platinum select visa to a citibusiness card. the form letter states how my business really need this, etc. but i have no business. i'm just a normal person who charges minimal amounts and always pays the bill on time.

in order to keep my current card, i have to call them. otherwise, the card changes. i googled this situation but came up empty. i scrutinzed the letter and the only thing i can figure out is that the new card is not necessarily a visa. the citibusiness cards i see listed on the net are all mastercards.

is this a good thing? should i change? should i stop it? my old card doesn't give me anything special (no cashback, etc). nor does the new card as far as i can tell... except it seems to be only for people with a good credit rating. i don't have much in the way of automatic billing, so the change for me is easy enough. i just don't want to get sandbagged down the road. so, should i change ? any comments ? thanx.

If you have the option to not change, call and tell Citibank not to change your card. Simple. If you don't have the option, and the new card has no fee, accept it. You gain nothing at all by closing the account...

from my understanding Citi are changing credit cards , removing Visa's credit card for MasterCard's. Make sure that your history will not go harm

i have recently applied for CITI PLATINUM SELECT CARD. when i called up to check the status of my application, i was transferred to a credit analyst who offered to upgrade the cad to a a business card-the CITI PROFESSIONAL CARD-. i told her that i didn't have any business of my own- and asked how i could be eligible for the card- she assured me that my profession allows me to do business transactions- like buying some stuffs from staples-.

so i accepted the card-

i know citibusiness card is really a business card, for people owning business- i know i could be wrong-
