Here's a deal I saw somewhere else. You get $150 visa gift card for getting this charles card! I probably will be declined but good luck to the rest of you!

Wow! Thanks for the post. That is very generous. Still not very impressed with their rewards program, though.

Gee, thanks rain. I applied yesterday for this Schwab card and got an instant approval for $10K, 1.9% for a year and then 7.65%. Although the fine print says you’ve to make a purchase which should post by 30 June to get the $150 gift card, it’s no problem. Had I not been greedy, I’d offer you a finders fee.

fenster,

Congrats! I assume that you don't have to be a Schwab customer to take advantage of this offer. Correct?

I am a forum junkie. Got this from my favourite travel forum---flyertalk.com.

Congrats Fenster =) Hope you won't have any hassle in getting/spending the gift card!

I wonder why this offer isn't posted on their official website?

I hope it is not a fraud link - I applied and didn't get an immediate response, they said they would have to mail something. I am wary about that since we have extremely excellent credit.

And now I've give all my important information. Uh, oh. I don't like it that I can't find this link from their website!

Don’t fret ruby, they’re legit, I double checked with a human myself. MBNA is subcontracting this Schwab card and you can reach them at 1-800-932-2775 to confirm you’re on record. Moreover, it’s worth it, that $150 will cover a few Xbox games my son has been pestering me about.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is the best length of time to re-apply for credit cards for which you have been rejected?

Time isn't the key ... improvement in your credit profile is.

Track your FICO at least quarterly. If your score improves by 20+ points since your application and at least 90 days have passed, it's worthwhile to give it a try.

It's best not to have made any other credit applications in the past 60 days as well (although this isn't necessary a killer if you have applied more recently).

But keep in mind, each creditor weighs your credit profile differently. There are a lot of card issuers out there. If you find another with similarly favorable terms, it might be worth approaching them instead. They may weigh your application more favorably and it would be a better avenue than bashing your head against the first issuers resistance.

Thank you, yes I expect my credit score to raise in the near future by having a couple negative accounts removed that are either not mine or duplicate billing errors etc. Also by having some positive activity added. That is why I was asking how long is the best time to re-apply.

Or is there a way that I can have them review my previous applicataion again, will the cra send them a new copy of my credit report too with the updates?
