Hi,
I am looking to get a credit card but I am not sure where to start. I have a full time job and I make around 2000 a month. My credit score at the moment is 691 and I was looking for something I can have for gas and what not since I travel alot. I have had the job for almost a full year.
Any information would be a great help. Thank you.

691 is a good credit score , assuming this MYFICO score. I can recommend prime card (or even premium cards).

Thank you for the information! I think it is myfico score. I signed up with freecreditreport.com and signed up for the 30 days free trial. I am not sure if it gives fico score or not.

Of the cards noted, I'd heartily recommend applying to Citi first. My wife and I have had exceptional experience with them during the past 16 years.
Our experience with Chase has been slightly more checkered and lately, with the combination of their CC business with BankOne, we're incredibly frustrated with customer service -- it's taking 5-10 min. just to talk to a person when we call.

Really? I am a little scared about credit cards because my girlfriend in the last two years have racked up about 3000 in debt, maxing both credit cards and I just don't want to get in her position. She barely makes the min. payments every month...its nuts.
