The American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card is designed for consumers who spend a lot of money and travel frequently. Keep in mind that this card is a charge card, not a credit card. So if you use this card, you're expected to pay the bill in full each month. You can't carry a revolving balance on this card.

Your question about the minimum credit score required is hard to answer because the card issuer might also be influenced by other factors in your credit report. But in general, you'll need excellent credit. There's a difference of opinion on where the cut-off is for an excellent FICO score, but you probably need a score of at least 750.

This card has an excellent rewards points program, but there's also a $175 annual fee. It's waived for the first year.
