Barclays partners with low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines to offer what the company says is the lowest-mileage redemption levels in the industry. With the highly regarded Barclays Free Spirit MasterCard, you can redeem a free round-trip ticket with just 5,000 miles rather than the 25,000 miles required by other airlines. You can also get one-way tickets for half that. You get 15,000 miles just for signing up and using the card once, and you can get 10,000 more miles for a balance transfer in the first 60 days. Barclays also teams up with Travelocity on an American Express card that has no blackout dates or seat limitations.

There are cards affiliated with U.S. Airways, Virgin America, Aer Lingus, Air Jamaica, Air Tran Airways, China Airlines, Icelandair, Lufthansa and Frontier Airlines. If you prefer to float on water, Barclaycard partners with Carnival, the cruise line, on a Mastercard, and with Holland American cruise ships and Princess Cruises on Visa cards.

Barclaycard US also teams up with Wyndham Hotel Group on a no annual fee Visa card that offers you three points for every dollar spent at a Wyndham facility and two points for each dollar spent elsewhere. A premium credit card, with a $69 annual fee, where you can earn five points per dollar for Wyndham expenditures and currently earn 30,000 points--good for up to five free nights at certain hotels in 6,000-facility group--for signing up and after your first purchase.

You can get the new NFL Extra Points Visa card decorated with your favorite team's logo and use it to accumulate points and get 20 percent discounts at NFLShop.com.

Barclaycard has a partnership with Priceline.com, which promises, with typical William Shatner bravado, "a nunchuck blow right to the solar plexus of high prices." Not only do you get deals on your original Priceline.com prices, but you accumulate points by making those purchases with this card. The Barclaycard Financing Visa Card gives you special financing offers on Apple products, are there are also a Barnes & Noble, L.L. Bean and Gulf credit cards.

About Our Ratings ×

Our editors rate credit cards objectively based on the features the credit card offers consumers, the fees and interest rates, and how a credit card compares with other cards in its category. Ratings vary by category, and the same card may receive a certain number of stars in one category and a higher or lower number in another.

The ratings are the expert opinion of our editors, and not influenced by any remuneration this site may receive from card issuers.

Advertisers in our database are highlighted, and advertisements include an option to apply using links on our site. CardRatings.com may be compensated by companies mentioned on the site when a user's application is accepted or approved by such companies.
