The card accepts direct deposits from your employer or cash deposits from a claimed 50,000 retailers at no charge. The minimum amount you can add is $25. If your card comes with a PIN, you can use it at any ATM or POS device that requires a PIN and is compatible with the card. You can withdraw cash, make purchases and pay certain bills online with the card wherever it is honored.
You can earn 500 Cash Back points when you activate your card online. Make your first direct deposit load and receive 1,000 Cash Back points. Points are redeemable for credit towards purchases, not for cash. You can earn more Cash Back points by shopping on the UPside Mall, by adding minutes to a prepaid cell phone from the UPside website, or by participating in occasional promotions. You can use the account to write personal checks online. A companion card is available to allow joint use of the account.
The card is issued by MetaBank. Funds in the card account are FDIC insured as long as the card is registered.
