Our editor's take

Curtis Arnold CardRatings Managing Editor
This is a charge card only and therefore no APR. This is one of the editor's favorites. There are no pre-set spending limits and for new cardholders get a 1.5% discount for paying early or up to 60 days to pay without interest, or both each month. Downside--annual Membership fee is $250 but the first year there is a $0 introductory annual fee your first year, then $250.

This card initially allows you to charge card with an increased spending limit and then all of a sudden cut off your spending ability to more than half of what you are able to spend the previous months even with good payment history with AMEX. After 3 months, they'll increase again and then 3 months after that, they cut it off again! All these without missing a damn on time payment! This happened to us twice already! It is so frustrating! This ultimately screws up your cash flow especially when you are a growing company. You are better off with a card that has a set credit limit that way you know exactly how much you can spend and plan allocation of cash flow appropriately. Extremely disappointed with AMEX Plum. I would not recommend it for a growing company.

About Our Ratings ×

Our editors rate credit cards objectively based on the features the credit card offers consumers, the fees and interest rates, and how a credit card compares with other cards in its category. Ratings vary by category, and the same card may receive a certain number of stars in one category and a higher or lower number in another.

The ratings are the expert opinion of our editors, and not influenced by any remuneration this site may receive from card issuers.
