Days after Continental announced plans to phase out the ability for American Express cardholders to redeem Membership Rewards points for OnePass frequent flyer miles, Chase revealed enhancements to the co-branded credit cards it markets in partnership with the airline. Both credit cards offer significant incentives for travelers to fly Continental, especially in the wake of concerns over the airline's upcoming merger with former rival United.

The OnePass Plus Card carries an $85 annual fee, but awards members with two complimentary day passes to the Continental Airlines Presidental Club airport lounge network. Cardholders enjoy their first checked bag for free on any Continental flight when purchased with the card. Every dollar spent on the card earns one OnePass mile, which can be exchanged for miles and points in over two dozen hotel and airline partnerships.

The Presidential Plus Card requires a $395 annual fee, and offers cardholders full access to over 200 airport lounges operated by Continental, United, US Airways, and other Star Alliance airline partners. Purchasing Continental tickets with the card entitles members to complimentary air and hotel upgrades, along with two checked bags at no charge on each flight.
