Opt Out Of Recieving Credit Card Offers

How many people here have called that number on those credit card offers you get in the mail to opt-out of receiving them? A few months after I established some credit I was inundated with them and I got really tired of shredding them all. So I called and found it would stop most of the offers for 5 years. Thoughts?

My wife needs to do that opt out thing. She gets enough low interest BT offers from her current cards.

Me on the other hand. I am rebuilding my credit. Its not that I replay to the offers i get.

I just like it WHEN i do get some. Ego thing........After some bad years, youll have to forgive me shallow indulgence of reading the offers.

I admit they were kinda cool at first but then it just got annoying, especially when I'd get 3 or 4 on the SAME DAY.

When you call they send you a letter about it and then give you an option to opt-out for life instead of just 5 years. I decided I didn't want to do that in case I change my mind in the future.
