I have been a Discover card customer for many years. I am currently up to date with all my payments . however the interest rate is so high and just 18 dollars a month goes to the principal, I have on several occasions called and asked for a lower rate with the answer being a no we do not have a better rate for you. . I reallly think there must be a better rate some where out there. Is there a fixed rate of 9.9 dpercent anywhere?

You'd think and independent company such as Discover would be more than willing to lower rates to keep cardholders since the credit card world is *SO* competitive. The truth is - there are TONS of great cards out there you could transfer that balance to. All you would have to do (assuming you are approved for a low rate card) is have them transfer the balance from your Discover card to your new card. It's a pretty simple process which can usually be done over the net (just make sure they don't charge a fee for it). Several different cards offer a low fixed rate of 9.9%, but the FICO qualifications (usually 700+ is required) are pretty stiff on most of them. It really depends on how good your credit is... have you been late with your payments recently? How high is your balance in relation to your credit limit and income? Do you pay more than the minimum? You can check a listing of low intro rate cards at my site by using the following address:

Or, you can take a look at some low fixed rate cards at this address:

If you have any further questions, don't forget to post em!
