Post subject: Getting Highest Cash Back Percentages on Cit Credit Card

I was wondering if anybody knows the merchant codes or categories that get 5% with the Citi Dividend card. I know the general categories (gas, grocery, and drug stores), but I was wondering about the specific categories, for instance "automated gas dispenser" and "service station."

While I am asking, does anybody know the Chase Cash Plus categories that get 5% back? I am guessing they are the same.

The reason I am asking all of this is so I can go through my bill and see where I am getting 5% back and where I am not, and see if I *should* be getting the 5%. When I went through one of my bills, I thought all of the purchases should have gotten 5% back, but they did not. I have tried to ask Citi this question, but twice the response has been unrelated to my question.

somebody posted a few weeks about on the citi card what places get 5% and there has been ongoing discussion on the difference with the chase card. Some have pointed out slight differences with the chase card at superstores. Some report chase gives 5% at superwalmart and citi doesnt, for example.

Looks like I got on the forums just too late. Thanks for the tip. I will look over some old discussions.

I am considering getting the Chase Cash Plus Card to replace my Marathon card with them. I figure getting 5% back at more places is better than just at Marathon, even though I already have the Dividend card. If Chase does give cash back at Wal Mart, that would be nice.

I just logged onto my Citi account last night and decided to check out their Merchant Network. You can shop online (and in some cases, in the store) and get extra cash back.

I had some Christmas shopping to do so when I saw that Target.com was offering 9% cash back on sales thru the Citi Network, I bought online what I was going to go to Target for. A Roomba Vaccuum for my mom and 2 video games for my son. Since I was going to buy this stuff anyway... I felt like I had won the lottery.

I spent about $240 dollars which will equal out to almost $22 cash back. The best part is that if you purchase thru their network, the cash back bonuses DO NOT count towards the $300 cap. It's unlimited.
