I have been attempting to resolve a seriously deceptive problem with a First
USA Mastercard without any results. Can you suggest an organization that
assists consumers with credit card companies ?

Dear Jimmy,

I would suggest you visit the Federal Trade Commission site at http://www.ftc.gov , they have an online complaint form at https://www.ftc.gov/ftc/complaint.htm .

They also have numerous articles on credit card and consumer related situations.

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Jimmy,

I would also suggest that you visit the following independent web site, which is entirely devoted to consumers that have complaints against FirstUSA (you are not alone). The address is...

http://www.firstscams.com

Also, consider pursuing legal action. Often a phone call or letter from an attorney can get results when all else fails.

Good luck!

Ok I admit it... for a very brief period of time I worked for First USA's resolution department. It's a horrible, horrible place to work and *nothing* ever gets done. I looked through incoming letters (it was not uncommon for these letters to be thicker than most books) and we would either "take care" of the problem there (usually a form letter stating that it would be 30 more days), or forward it to someone else. I'm not real sure who this "someone" else was, and I don't think anyone else knew either. FUSA has conveniently lost thousands of letters people have sent in, as well as their payments. I'm a big fan of the site Curtis mentioned previously - www.firstscams.com. Be sure to check out the "Current Discussions" and post your problem on the message board. Numerous ex-employees post regularly and have more insider knowledge than I do about FUSA's resolution/dispute department. From what I've heard, FUSA generally won't do anything unless a "higher authority" is involved - such as the FTC. Good Luck, unfortunately your going to need it.

Take Care,
Caz
